Johannesburg, August 2012: Eqstra Holdings Ltd has announced the acquisition of Air Supreme to its Eqstra Industrial Equipment Division. Air Supreme is a well established South African supplier of air compressors for a variety of industrial sectors.

Chief Executive Officer of Eqstra Industrial Equipment Division, Gary Neubert said “The Eqstra Industrial Equipment Division is growing so rapidly, that I believe that supplementing our core market of forklift equipment services with value added resources is where the acquisition of Air Supreme will play a pivotal role. The compressed air portfolio is a natural companion for our division, and in addition to enhancing our existing product and service offerings, it most certainly will open up new markets and increase our outreach”.

Air Supreme was established in 1981, and imports and manufactures air compressors for light and heavy industrial applications. The company offers air compressor rentals and repairs and invests substantially in research and development, keeping the company abreast of new technologies and engineering systems. The company also offers customised maintenance contracts as well as technical back-up and training.

Eqstra Industrial Equipment is the largest supplier of forklifts in South Africa with a 35% market share, and has the largest product support infrastructure in the region. Eqstra distributes Toyota Forklifts; BT, Raymond and Flexi Warehousing Equipment; Clarklift; JCB Teletruk ranges as well as industrial power and Hako cleaning equipment, Same Deutz-Fahr agricultural equipment, Terex Mobile Cranes and Konecranes industrial heavy lifting and port equipment. Eqstra Industrial Equipment has also recently acquired 600SA which distributes and manufactures a range of Lifting, loading and waste management equipment.
