Toyota Industrial Equipment, a division of the EIE Group, emerged as a major winner at the recent 2017 TMHI Awards, held to honour the Toyota Material Handling International (TMHI) distributors’ annual performance for the year January to December 2017. In addition to winning three of the Excellent Performance categories, Toyota Industrial Equipment received Platinum Club recognition for holding a market share of more than 35%, for three consecutive years or more, the first time it has been admitted to this prestigious TMHI club.

With distributors from more than 140 countries competing, Toyota Industrial Equipment received a Sales Award for excellent performance in sales, a Vision 2020 Award for effort in mid-term activities to achieve the Vision 2020, and an Outstanding Effort Award for increasing its market share over three consecutive years.

The award ceremony was held in Japan in early April 2018 for distributors in the TMHI region for the best-in-class brands, Toyota Forklift, BT and Raymond products. The TMHI region covers the markets of Asia, Latin America, Oceania, Middle East and Africa.

The company, known as Saficon Industrial Equipment was founded in 1984, and today Toyota Industrial Equipment is the largest supplier of forklifts to the Southern African market, with the most extensive product support infrastructure in the region.

“These prestigious awards recognize the continued strength of the Toyota Industrial Equipment business in Southern Africa and are confirmation of our achievement as a partner of choice for both TMHI and our highly valued client base in the region,” says Shumani Tshifularo, Toyota Industrial Equipment’s Managing Director

“It is also a fitting reward for our employees’ hard work and commitment to being a trusted total solutions supplier, delivering optimal lifetime value to our customers.”

The award-winning range of Toyota Forklift, Raymond and BT branded forklift trucks and warehousing equipment covers applications from loading to horizontal transport, stacking and order picking, all supported by ancillary products such as batteries and chargers for forklifts.

Toyota Forklift offers a holistic solution to meet all its customers’ warehousing and materials handling requirements, ranging from outright purchase and rental of new and used equipment to after-market service, which includes Service, Maintenance, and parts, to operator training and a range of other value-added services. Distribution and service are carried out through branches in the main centres with depots and dealers complementing the Southern Africa network.
