Eqstra Industrial Equipment commemorated World Aids Day by educating our staff on 5 December. The day started with the Wellness Theatre, where, through industrial theatre, the consequences of making the right choices were visually communicated.

The Wellness Theatre highlighted areas such as treatment available, how to take ARV’s correctly, the importance of knowing one’s status at an early stage and how the body deteriorates if you do not know your status, thus not treating the virus. They made us aware of the precautions to take and gave hope to the affected and infected.

The Wellness department is available to support all those affected and infected with HIV and AIDS. It is a dedicated support unit with the mission to change the course of this HIV/AIDS pandemic through a unique and comprehensive focus on our staff.

You are welcome to register with Julia Nhlapo (Wellness Coordinator) who will guide you through the steps. julianh@www.eiegroup.co.za/

The day progressed with a minute of silence and remembering all those who have passed on from HIV and AIDS with the lighting of candles followed by the National Anthem.

Furthermore, all the employees were encouraged to leave their handprint on a red sheet, in support of all those affected and infected which will be framed and held as a memorandum within our business.

Words from CEO, Gary Neubert: “This was an excellent way of getting the message across…. WE WILL SUPPORT YOU. Make the right choice”
