Eqstra’s agricultural equipment is well-known for reliability and precision. The Agri division which is the sole distributor of the world renowned Same and Deutz-Fahr tractor brands in Southern Africa, is fast making its name in the agricultural industry.

Low-bed truck

With a steady growth over the last 12 months, the Agri division has recently acquired a Hino 700 low bed truck with a load capacity of over 10 tonnes to facilitate the delivery of customers’ equipment as the demand for their class leading machinery continues to rise.

“The acquisition of the new Hino low bed truck was an absolute necessity as our business and customers continue to grow,” explains Eugene Jonker, GM for the Agri division, “As we need to respond quickly to our customers, owning our own truck aids in our ability to look after our customers and also having the capability of delivering more equipment more efficiently.”

The acquisition of the truck saw the Eqstra synergy come into play. A 16 tonne crane with an 8 meter reach was to be mounted on the low bed truck to enable easy on and off loading of equipment. Eqstra 600SA’s division which specialises in lifting and loading took to the opportunity and provided a Fassi F175A-0-22 16 ton meter hydraulic crane capable of lifting 1,955kg at an 8 meter reach.

The truck is available for hire within the Eqstra group as well as the general public. Any enquiries should be put through to the Johannesburg branch on 011 552 8760.

Workshop

The Agri division has also established their first local tractor assembly workshop in Jet Park, Johannesburg. The workshop has seen 35 tractors assembled to date which are made ready for Pre-Delivery-Inspection. The workshop also caters for machinery rebuilds as well as the possibility of trading in old equipment for new equipment.

With this progression, the operation’s after-market service will be significantly enhanced.
